Drawing on historical sources, he examines the Zink and Trompet 16′ registration and its use in works by Sweelinck, Scheidemann, Weckmann and Reincken.
Rogér van Dijk highlights the life and work of organ builder Hendricus Dominicus Lindsen (1794–1860). In doing so, he devotes considerable attention to the Lindsen organ (1844) in St Augustine’s Church in Utrecht and to its restoration in the years 2015–2024.
Auke H. Vlagsma continues his series on French organ façades with a contribution on the organ in Mende Cathedral. Dirk Luijmes writes about the life and organ oeuvre of Joseph Jongen, prompted by the new Bärenreiter edition of his complete organ and harmonium music.
What do Nicolaas Beets and secularisation have to do with one another? Jos van der Kooy addresses the question in his column. In the Orgelpark section, Hans Fidom reports on new ways of listening, while Peter Ouwerkerk reflects on a conversation with women organists about why the organ world is still to a large extent a man’s world.
In Orgelbouwnieuws, Bert den Hertog describes recently completed work on the organs of Nederhorst den Berg, Oudewater, Scharnegoutum and Wagenborgen. Jan Luth reviews the Breitkopf edition of two chaconnes attributed to Bach (BWV 1178/1179), and Jan Hage discusses two new editions by Reitze Smits.
This issue also contains the regular sections Vers van de pers and Signalement. On the back cover, Frits Zwarts writes about the Delft organist Pieter Kersbergen (1810–1899) and his relationship with the organs of Delft.
