Het ORGEL 114 (2018), nr. 2, 16-29 [summary]
The most recent restoration of the Hinsz/Van Dam organ in the Grote Kerk (Martinikerk) of Bolsward began on 1 August, 2015. Actually this was the last phase of a total restoration, for which the preparations began already in 1999. The consultant was Aart Bergwerff; Rudi van Straten oversaw the project for the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (National monument service).
The inauguration was on 22 October, 2016, with a concert by James O’Donnell, Jos van der Kooy, Daniel Roth, and Kees Nottrot.
For this article Rogér van Dijk wrote the history of the instrument. Henk de Vries wrote the paragraph ‘Impressions’. In boxed texts, written by Auke H. Vlagsma, attention is given to the organists of the Bolsward Hinsz organ.
