The Domkerk in Utrecht has two instruments by Bätz. Besides the main organ (1831) there is a cabinet organ by Gideon Thomas Bätz. Since the 1960s the instrument has been studied several times. Peter van Dijk evaluates in this article, among other aspects, various hypotheses about the history of the organ. He also gives a description of the instrument and its sound.
