With some regularity the question is asked within the Koninklijke Vereniging van Organisten en Kerkmusici (Royal Association of Organists and Church Musicians) why the KVOK publishes 2 journals, rather than 1. At the General Members’ Meeting on 10 June, 2017, this subject was on the agenda: the KVOK trustees explained what the reasons might be for merging ‘Het Orgel’ with ‘Muziek & Liturgie’, that would then appear 10x/year. The two editors of the KVOK journals presented their objections to the plan. This article is a written version of the explanation that they gave during the members’ meeting.
