Paul Peeters Upper sliders: an 18th-century variant
Het ORGEL 112 (2016), nr. 6, 42-46 [summary]

In numbers 2 and 3 of volume 112 (2016) of this journal, Jaap den Hertog (†), Winold van der Putten and Victor Timmer published an article about upper sliders. The Brothers Wagner, who built the previous organ of the Grote or Eusebiuskerk in Arnhem (1768-1770), also developed a similar construction. This article describes the construction as described in the sources. The Wagners’ construction differs clearly from the older model. Whether these organ builders invented the new construction themselves, or whether they developed the older model which they knew, is not known.
