Annie Spink

The young organ concertseries of Obrechtkerk Amsterdam welcomes Annie Spink from USA to play the Vermeulen Orgel from 1918/2012 in the second concert of this series.
These organ concerts contain special elements of creativity (like collaboration with instrumentalists or ensembles, compositions by the player him/herself, improvisations, transkriptions) and individual approaches shared with the audience (guided listening, music as a medium to express important issues of human life). All performed by young professionals and students.

Program february 28th:

L. Vierne (1870-1937): Choral from symphonie 2
D. Locklair (*1949): Rubrics IV.
J.S. Bach (1685-1750): Fantasie und Fuge in c BWV 537
A. Schlick (1460-1521): Maria Zart
C. Franck (1822-1890): Grande Pièce Symphonique

Annie Spink will be presenting the organ as a instrument capable of shapeshifting music and encouraging the audience how to listen to each piece through the lens of different instruments/types of ensembles.
