From 1840 onwards Aristide Cavaillé-Coll exported organs to European countries and as far afield as British India, China, Chile and Brazil. Without the influence of figures such as Fétis, Lemmens and Van Elewijck (Belgium), Philbert (the Netherlands) and Hopwood (England), the importance and influence of the Paris organ builder would certainly not have been so great. In 2025 Gerald Sumner published a study of Cavaillé-Coll’s work in Great Britain.
